Wedding Trends I’ve Been Loving Lately

When it comes to your wedding day, the details truly make all the difference. You’ve probably spent a great deal of time working on every single detail to make it reflect your love, your style, and possibly even taking some of those ideas from your Pinterest board. While it’s easier to focus on the big moments-the ceremony, the first dance, the reception-it’s really the little touches that make for lasting impressions. As a wedding lover and being in the industry myself, I’ve loved seeing some creative and meaningful trends emerging in the wedding scene, and I’m here to share a few of my favorites.

1. Florals Lining the Aisle

Walking down the aisle is already a magical moment, and florals are a perfect way to enhance that moment. Whether you’re imagining a soft petal-strewn path or a more dramatic floral arrangement, florals lining the aisle create a stunning visual. This trend is so versatile-you can go with lush blooms, dainty wildflowers, or even minimalist greenery, whatever fits your wedding aesthetic. Just think about the soft scent of flowers accompanying you as you walk towards your partner-such a beautiful, romantic detail!

2. The Detail Photos

We all know the big moments are important to capture, but more and more couples are leaning into the beauty of the in-between moments, as are the photographers. I love the trend of detail shots-when photographers capture it all in a flat lay: the bridal shoes, jewelry, bouquet, save the dates, and sparkling rings. Of the most unique photos that I have started to see are the late-night flat lays with a half eaten piece of cake, a shoe, and maybe a drink these photos really sum up the after party fun.

3. Signature Wedding Fragrance

This is one of my absolute favorite trends, and is one I personally did at my own wedding.

A wedding fragrance is such a great idea to create one of those sensory memories that will truly last a lifetime. My husband and I decided to choose separately, as a surprise to each other, and it was just such a sweet, personal touch. This fragrance will always remind me of our wedding day, and we still wear it on special occasions to remind ourselves of that beautiful chapter in our lives. If you want to make it a bit more fun and part of the pre-wedding excitement, I suggest you make it a date night activity with your partner. You could visit a few stores, test out different scents, and make the final choice together. In the years to come, you’ll be able to pull out your “wedding fragrance” and instantly be taken back to your big day.

4. Guestbooks

While traditional guestbooks are lovely, many couples are now opting for more interactive and meaningful ways to remember their loved ones who were there to celebrate. Here are some of the most creative guestbook ideas I’ve seen recently:

  • Engagement Photo Coffee Table Book: Creating a beautiful coffee table book using your engagement photos with ample space for the guests to leave their notes on. This way you will have an elegant memento, you can always place in your house and flip through. If you decide to book a videographer, this would pair perfectly with The Motion Book.
  • Polaroid Camera Fun: This station seems to always be a hit! Set up an area with loads of film and invite your guests to take fun pictures of themselves, jotting a little note on the bottom. Or they can glue these into an album or stick them into a blank booklet where they can write messages there. This way they can interact and add a personal touch to the guestbook you can cherish forever.
  • After The Tone: One of the coolest guestbook ideas I wish I could have done at my own wedding-though it wasn’t as popular back then-is getting an After The Tone voicemail guestbook. Guests can record messages, and you get to keep them for many years. Hearing the voices of your loved ones wishing you well is such a special way to preserve the love and joy from your wedding day.

5. Color Palettes

Earthy, neutral tones are here to stay; warm and timeless, they’re perfect for any outdoor or rustic setting. If you happen to be having a wedding in Montana, be inspired by the views around you with muted greens, soft browns, dusty pinks, and lavender hues to bring that beauty to your big day.

Beyond traditional neutral tones, one trend I’m seeing more of is mixing and matching colors for bridesmaids’ dresses. Instead of choosing one color for all, couples are selecting different shades—pastels, jewel tones, or even variations of the same color—for each bridesmaid. This approach adds a playful and modern twist to the classic bridal party look.

Another option is to choose a single color for the dresses but with different lengths, textures, and styles to suit the shape and style of each bridesmaid. This trend allows a more personalized look to come into play while maintaining cohesiveness within the bridal party.

Florals also have a lot to do with the color scheme, as most brides stick with either an array of simple flowers or more intricate arrangements that set off the overall palette. This detail is a great way to add a little fun while still keep everything aligned with your chosen colors.

Your Wedding Day, Your Way

Whatever trends you may or may not include, remember that your wedding day is a celebration of your love story. It’s the little things-from flowers to guestbook, to the smell that will always remind you of the start of this next chapter. So have fun with the planning, embrace the details, and let your wedding reflect everything that makes your love one-of-a-kind!

Happy planning!
